Default Lubbock ride 1-22-10, or 1-23-10

If it is not too windy I am planning on cruising to Lubbock looking at another bike and eating at Joes crabshack.

Sat. or Sun.

Just checked the forecast. Does not look good for riding Rain then WINDY through Sunday. We will probably just take the cage up there.

6 of us rode up to Lubbok on Saturday and got caught in the worst riding conditions I have ridden in it 40 years! A sandstorm between Lamesa and Patricia on the way back reduced our visibility to zero and the cross winds were at least 50 mph. Needless to say our decision to ride up there Saturday was a bad one. It did however enhance my MC riding resume for sure! We all made it back ok - a little worn out and somewhat sandblasted!

yes,bad decision.
i've done that with 30 mile an hour wind by truck and bike.
both scary cross winds in that area.
on the bike we were on one lane plus shoulder wide road for both directions of traffic...

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!

Sat. My wife and I were on the zx-10, another guy solo on his R6. Left out at 11:45 AM. Caught one small shower near Tahoka. Gusty winds and chilly up there. About 5:00 PM coming home - 20 miles each side of Patricia was a riders HELL!!

At times visibility due to dirt blowing was +/- 100'. This was the first time I have ever had to lean far right to make left hand turns. Wind was a definate MO-FO that day.

Screaming eagle, What time were ya'll on the road?

We came through Lamesa on our way back to Midland at about 3pm. I went over the Harley shop on Saturday and replaced my air filter - it was full of farm dirt (sand)!

It was the maily the stretch of road from Lamesa to Patricia that was the worst. I have been through there in those conditions in a cage and that was bad enough - it was horrible on my bike!
